Twice Removed...by Rev Liberty (Penelope) Olseth

As we begin to examine the Bible through various studies, we are taught to refer to first mention. The first time a word or phrase is used, and what the original intentions and meanings were.

This first mention of sickness (machaleh) appears in Exodus 23:25 And ye shall serve the Lord your  God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. The original Hebrew word machaleh literally means sickness, disease and infirmity. It was never a part of Gods original intent for us.

Sickness was a part of the fall of men. It was brought on by mans disobedience and/or sin. However, we see that God gave us an opportunity to have sickness taken away from us, even before the work of the cross. More importantly, God says from the midst  of us.

As I started to really study this verse and the surrounding verses, several things were brought to my attention. First, we find that this promise of blessings was made in OT times as a blessing for obedience. The promise follows a long list of laws, beginning in the first part of Exd. 23. However, we see that there is a third person in the conversation.

This conversation took place between Moses, the Angel of the Lord and Jesus himself. God always speaks to man through one of His Angels. In this case it is The Angel of the Lord, Jesus was then as now our healer. He tells us, if we serve the Lord our God, He(God) will bless thy bread and water. And I (Jesus) will take sickness away, from the midst of thee.

Another interesting part of this verse, is the double mention of take 5493 away 5493 and the midst 7130, first we se that both take and away is the word cuwr meaning take, away, depart, remove, take off etc. Midst 7130 is qereb deals more with our inner part, middle, within, inwards part. So Jesus is saying I will remove sickness off us and from within our inner parts. Twice removed, Glory what a promise!

This verse was a foretelling of the finished works of the cross. We no longer must obey to the laws to be blessed. Eph.2:4(NAS But God , being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ...But now we have been made alive! Alive to the finished works of the cross. By His stripes we were healed.

For those of us that didn't receive instant manifestation of healing. We see that further in Exd 23 for reasons only God knows, It may take time even a year or more. But if we hold tight to our profession and trust God in all His ways. He who promised is faithful! Hbr 10:23

I would love to hear from others that are waiting on the Lord for manifestation to wholeness. That by our testimonies we can help others to remain vigilant, when hope can seem so far off.

Forgiveness....Really?

I am writing quick today to talk about...Yes... Forgiveness.

I realized that, that one word is one we don't talk about. The burden of unforgiveness can last generations. Sure it is easy enough to forgive someone you don't see or have contact with. But what happens when you are confronted by a sudden return of that unforgiveness?

I have recently been confronted quite boldly with what I thought was long buried. Day one...We spent time together in quiet avoidance of any previous and current  issues. It was enjoyable to spend time with this person. You see the air can usually be cut between us. For what I thought was a rebellious unforgiving child whom on day 2 dragged me right into the same issued we've had for 20 yrs.

Sure I can try to blame it on lack of responsibility on her part to grow up and take care of business. But, the fact that I was so easily dragged into the on going yelling fight began to really hurt my spirit. This had planely gone on way too long. I saw that my self rightiousness, was plainly my intolerance to 100 sorries w/ no true repentance.

As a mother who promised God to raise my family to love, serve and fear God. Sometimes we have to just let go and let God..I can't do it anymore...I had to let go for my walk w/ God. That night I did, I forgave her and prayed for her and a heavy weight was  lifted off me. The next morning day 3 she tried again, but I held my peace.lol She left after  yelling at me 20-30 minutes exhausted.

Had we won? Yes and No, we will see, I know that I had found forgiveness through real repentance. The rest is not up to me! I hope and pray she can too!

His Amazing Grace

His Amazing Grace

Just how amazing is His Grace?

Ephesians 2: 1 And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins;

And you......

What better way to get our attention, than to say I am going to talk about "you" now,

hath he quickened.....

this appears in parathesis as to have been added later than the original greek text to lessen the coming blow.

who were dead in tresspasses and sins.....

Now Paul is saying "who were" not who are or who is. He is addressing those like us who were dead in sin. For we all inherited the original sin that lead to our death.

The Greek word for sin, hamartia, is a word that means "to miss." Our English word sin comes from a root "to miss." In fact, it comes from a game in archery that the British used to have. They would put a hoop on a pole, and each man would take his quiver of arrows and shoot his arrows through the hoop one at a time. And so maybe you would have five men in the contest. Each of them with ten arrows, and one after another they would shoot their arrow through the hoop there at the top of the pole. Now, if a man should miss the hoop, then he was called a sinner, you have missed. And he would have to treat the rest of the fellows to the drinks. He was a sinner. He had missed the mark.

Ephesians 2: 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world.....

As a child I loved the rain, after the storm would pass we would race outside to have races in the rain gutters. Finding anything even a stick to be our boats. We would run to the top of a hill and let our lil make shift boats go, I'd anxiously watch as my boat made it's way toward the bottom. Some would sink resting on the gutter unable to move on. While others would go further only to get hung up on rocks or leaves, none ever reached the end.

The greek word for "course"  translates to our word for weathervane a weathervane constantly moves with the wind, changing direction as the wind changes.

Like these lil boats we are carried by the currents of this world. Some heavy in sin sink right away others float closer, but all eventually fall short or miss the mark
Gods mark for us is nothing short of perfection. Matthew 5: 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

according to the prince of the power of the air the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

We walk aimlessly about, being carried to and fro, by none other than satan and the workers of iniquity. It is satan who tries to keep us off course away from the truth of salvation the next verse exposes his tactics.

Ephesians 2: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

How many times have you followed your desires only afterwards to find no satisfaction or happiness in what you thought you wanted. Only to move on to something else, again left feeling empty and unsatisfied. This may occure several times some of you may still be stuck there. There is an answer for this emptiness.

Ephesians 2: 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

But God who is rich in mercy, oh my He is full of mercy. Mercy being He does not give us our deserved punishment. Which is seperation from Him in eternal death and torment. But that He loved us through all our sins of mind and flesh of our trying to replace him with idolist wants. He loved us from our very beginnings, thru all of it. He loved us before we know Him, before we loved Him.John 3: 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Ephesians 2: 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved

With Christ all things have been forgiven. Psalms 32: 1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. How we rejoice! Can we ever truely find a word to describe the feeling?.....Amazing Grace

That thru the Lord Jesus we are born again of the spirit, no longer being tossed to and fro in the currents of this world. But we are able to see the mark and set our sails on new places....Heavenly Places

Ephesians 2: 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

We now sit in heavenly places thru the spirit of adoption we are sons and daughters of the true living God. We are satisfied in mind, body and spirit no longer seeking comfort from earthly things. Resting in His perfect love in heavenlt places above all powers and principalities, where nothing can harm us.

Ephesians 2: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

Now, notice verse 5, "with Christ," verse 6, "in Christ Jesus," verse 7, "through Christ Jesus." All of these things that God has done, He has done for us, in, and through, and by Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

By His love for us, thru faith in Jesus Christ, He has given us freely the gift of salvation that not of ourselves lest anyone boast v.9. Even our faith was a gift, for Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.

Amazing Grace how sweet it is.

I have 2 friends each diagnosed with cancer the same week.
June
1. Was told he had 1-3 months to live. He being a devout christian raised by the gospel of Christ, is all but cancer free 6 months later.

2. The other raised religiously but no longer attends church, has almost been taken from us, the cancer consuming her daily. She lays in bed all day.

I have spent many hrs in prayer for both.

Is faith behind this?

I am reminded of a minister whose son had been diagnosed with Cancer. The minister and the whole congregation prayed for healing for his son. When his son died, the preacher cried out to God, asking Him where He was when his son died.
The answer: THE SAME PLACE I WAS WHEN MINE DIED!

My own son passed away just a couple of months ago, and when I read this, I was blown away. My husband and I had prayed for healing for my son, for many months and years. While I think faith is a huge factor in how God answers our prayers, I also know that God has plans for our lives that we obviously can't understand. I don't know why God chose to take my son when He did, but I thank God every day for the time I had the priviledge of having him in my life.

FAITH IS NOT YOURS !!! IT BELONGS TO GOD !!! HE GIVES EVERY MAN OR WOMAN A MEASURE OF FAITH - I BELIEVE FAITH GROWS LIKE A MUSTARD SEED- EVEY PERSON HAS ENOUGH GIVEN FOR SALVATION TO TAKE PLACE THEN AS YOU WALK WITH GOD IT GROWS WITH THE WATERING OF THE WORD - I USE TO THINK I HAD GRAND FAITH - KINDA LIKE PETER - BUT GOD HIMSELF WILL SHOW YOU WHAT YOU HAVE AND DON'T HAVE - AND I PERSONALLY BELIEVE YOU HAVE NOTHING EXCEPT WHAT GOD GIVES !!! IF YOU HAVE A PRIDE ISSUE AND YOU THINK YOU HAVE GREAT FAITH - WELL THAT IS NOT WORKS - THAT IS PRIDE - AND REALLY YOU CAN HAVE FAITH FOR ANYTHING YOU MAY THINK IS A GOOD IDEA - BUT IF YOU ARE PRAYING GODS WILL - WHICH WE SHOULD BE THEN IT IS NOT YOUR FAITH THAT IS FAILING IT IS JUST NOT THE WILL OF GOD !!! I HAVE LEARNED THE MORE FAITH YOU DESIRE THE MORE TESTING COMES TO SEE IF YOU REALLY HAVE FAITH FOR SOMETHING !!! I ALSO BELIEVE IF GOD HAS SAID IT !!! HAVE FAITH FOR IT NO MATTER WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE OR WHAT YOU SEE - BELIEVE !!! AND WAIT BUT DON'T EVER THINK THAT GOD IS A MAN THAT HE SHOULD LIE - IF IT IS A GOD IDEA- IT SHALL COME TO PASS- IF IT IS A PRIDE IDEA - PRAY IT NEVER BARES FRUIT - WE ALL BELIEVE THAT AT SOME POINT IF WE JUST BELIEVE AND HAVE FAITH FOR SOMETHING IT WILL HAPPEN JUST HOW WE THINK IT SHOULD - BUT I HAVE THANKED GOD MORE THAN ONCE FOR UNANSWERED PRAYERS - AND I GUESS UNANSWERED FAITH TOO ... TOMORROW OR THE NEXT DAY I WILL BLOG " THE TALK WITH THE WATER FAUCET " MAYBE THAT WILL HELP - IT SET ME FREE FROM ALOT !!! WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD - FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD - IT IS A PERSONAL JOURNEY - NO ONE CAN WALK IT FOR YOU - YOU NEVER REALLY KNOW IF YOU HAVE FAITH UNLESS IT IS TESTED - FAITH IS THINGS HOPED FOR NOT YET SEEN - ENDURANCE IS PART OF THE PROCESS - GOD IS MIGHTY !!! JESUS IS LORD !!! SOMETHINGS WE ONLY LEARN IN TIME . TIME SPENT WALKING AND TALKING WITH GOD !!! I BELIEVE THIS IS REALLY SOMETHING THAT IS SIDE TRACKING SOMEONE FROM SOMETHING- GOD ALONE CAN GIVE YOU FAITH FOR SOMETHING - DESIRE AND FAITH ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS !!! I PRAY YOU FIND THE ANSWER !!! JESUS IS THE ANSWER- JUST SIMPLY JESUS !!! WHAT DO WE HAVE THAT HE ALONE DID NOT GIVE ???

Blessings Hopeful,
Yes!!! Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith...We all receive the measure(salvation) of faith...He is the perfecter of our faith as well. All glory belongs to Him and Him alone.

I should have clarified my question better. When it comes to Healing of sicknesss and disease. My friend states that "To read Gods word to increase faith, is self-works"

My response is, that faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God. That by reading and meditating on Gods word,, feeds our spirits- there by increasing our faith. It is the spirit of Jesus within us that reveals these things to us. There by eliminating it as self works.

To know that God can and to believe that God can are vastly different statements.

Faith is our responsibility, but faith with out works is dead. It is very important to exercise faith. Faith is not knowing or seeing. It is full confidence in Christ. even if things do not go our way. Many times we ask the lord for a favor, and we do not see the resault that we are looking for, but it is still our responsibility to exercise faith.

Blessings Patricia,
ty for responding. The key word is "exercizing" our faith. Putting our faith in action....can an outfielder catch the ball if he doesn't move...chances are minimal.
Our faith must be active.

The basic faith

Thursdayn and 11:35 am. December 11th 2008
The basic faith By: Patricia Pryce

Hebrews 11: 1-3
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by faith the elders obtain a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of the Lord, So that the things which are seen, were not made of things that are visible. (Great point.)
What does having faith means to me?
It's means that when I asked the Heavenly father for things, I must believe 100% in my heart, that the things I asked for, I will receive it. If I began to differ away from what I believe, I am lack of faith.
When the road is dark and rough, and all hope is gone, trust Jesus.
When the bills pile up, and the funs is dried up, trust Jesus.
When the economy sinks low, and gas price rise, trust Jesus
When the fridge is empty and the cabinets are dry, trust Jesus.
When your spouse leave you and the children turn against you, trust Jesus
When you loose your business, or you can't start a business, trust Jesus.
When you apply for a job and it dose not come true, trust Jesus
When you can't get a loan to buy a home or a car, trust Jesus.
When there is a death in the family, trust Jesus
When you are sick and can't get well, Trust Jesus.
When you are disappointed on every appointment, trust Jesus
When you loose your Job and are about to be evicted, trust Jesus.
There will be times when you have no money, and you pray to the father for help, and nothing happens, trust Jesus
There is nothing ever done with out Jesus doing it for us, he is there with us, feeling the same pain you are feeling.
I had a friend who had move from one state to another, She was a Christian. She had little money, and a stranger took her and her two children in. She went broke whiles she was hoping to get a job, but it fail, so she began to fuss and pray with the lord for about 5 months. She eventually leave the Lord and went out into the world doing her own thing. She found a very good and never came back to the Lord. I believed that if she had think for a moment. She would have realize that it was the lord who had kept her living in that house for the five months she was there, and did not have any money to pay her bills, she would have never walked away.
Have faith in God
Christ said, Oh you of little faith. If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you will be able to move mountains. If you are a just man, you should not be living in fear, or without having faith. It is impossible to please Christ without faith. Christ said, I will hide my face from you, if you have no faith in him, I will see what your end will be. Why do you have so little faith in Christ? Are you afraid to leap out in the dark? Friends, do you know, if you say to the mountains, go away, or be remove, and believed in your heart 100%, the mountains will go away? yes! it will. We choose the kind of faith we want because of lack on knowledge. We have not allow ourselves to reach the kind of faith Christ want us to exercised. Our faith is far away from believing that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Put away all fears and trust your Heavenly Father.
If you are not ready to see mountains move, blame yourself for lack of faith.
We need to ask the Lord to increase our faith to a mustard seed size, A mustard tree is one of the biggest trees. We may not be able to say to the mulberry tree, be remove from the roots, and plant yourself in the sea, and it obey. Or say to the mountain be thou remove and it move. But we can pray and have faith that the Lord will supply our needs. It is not to late to exercise our faith. We can do it now, by praying and believing what we ask for.
The Bible stated very clearly in the book of James. It is impossible to please the Most High with out faith. One reason is that, the just shall live by faith.
Let us pray that Father Yah will open our eyes and remove us from the power of evil and darkness to his marvelous light, that we may be Sanctified and Justify through the Righteousness of faith in Christ our Lord. He wants us to live by faith, he want to make us ministers of the things which we have seen, and the things which he will reveal to us, but we must let him.
A man is not justify by works, but by faith. But faith without works is dead. The righteous lived from faith to faith. But faith and works go hand and hand.
Even though faith without works is dead. Our works is not counted as grace, but as debts in the eyes of Christ. That is why we boast.
If we were rely Justify by works alone, we will have something to boast about, but not before our Heavenly Father.
Faith comes by hearing, hearing of the word of Christ, We must believe the report of the Lord. If we do not believe in Christ's report, then how shall we call on him? Or how shall we call on him whom we have no knowledge off. Faith comes through hearing, hearing by the word of the Heavenly father.
Christ is reveal through faith. We can only know and accept him through faith. When we start to believe that things will not come through for us at the time it is due, we are loosing faith. We are saying, I don't believe that the Lord is going to come through for me. I am not saying that we should not be concern. But deep down within we don't see it. So we can't believe it. If we could see it, then it will not be faith in your heavenly father. If we could see every thing that our heavenly father is doing for us, then he is not who he says he is. There is none like him. So receive him by faith.
The question is asked, when the son of man comes, will he find faith on the earth?

Blessings Patricia,
TY 4 sharing this blog with us!!! I read it earlier, I hope that this helps those whom are under the constant attack of satans voice, as they seek healing not only physical but spiritually too.

We are blessed by dedicated people such as yourself. who faithfully share many hours of study.

It's always important to see the unity of understanding of Gods word, that we teach not of ourselves, but by the spirit of God.

Trust God in all things

TY again Sis Patricia

Is faith our responsibility? Yes.
It is impossible to please the Father without faith.
It is our responsibility to exercise the faith that we have with our works.
It is also our responsibility to build our faith through the Spoken words.
And we are responsible for our Christian walk with the Lord.

Is Ones faith a works issue? If we are not exercising our faith with our works, our faith will become a work issue. Faith by itself, if it does not have works, it is dead. It profit us nothing to say we have faith and have not works. Can faith save us? No! If a brother or sister comes to you with a need, and you pray for them and let them depart empty handed with out a piece of bread, what does it profit them? Nothing. Faith is more than believing. The demons believe and tremble.
We read the story in the Bible about Abraham and his son Isaac. Abraham was justified by works when he offered Isaac his son upon the altar. Abraham’s faith was working hand and hand with his work, so his faith was made perfect.
A man is justified by his works and not by his faith only. Just as the body without the breath is DEAD, faith without works is DEAD also.
We received the word of the Lord through faith. If we learn that faith and works go hand and hand, we will not have a works issue...

Is ones lack of faith a works issue? Yes. Without faith it is impossible to please the Father. We worry because we are lack of faith and have no works. That is a big issue. We want to reap without sowing.

May the Lord bless you.

Every Sickness, Every Disease pt.20

Every Sickness, Every Disease pt.20
Current mood: The final post Every Sickness pt. 20 may God Bless
Category: The final post Every Sickness pt. 20 may God Bless Religion and Philosophy

We have covered alot these last 20 teachings (blogs) they can be viewed at http://blog.heavenlyhealingministries.com as that blog is centered around Gods word on healing.

We have seen that FAITH is being  fully persuaded of Gods word, seeing them in our spirit and thoughts. Taking care to keep our thoughts lined up with and on Gods word.Heb 11:1

Jesus healed because He had compassion on the oppressed. Jesus is unchangable for He is the same yesterday and today and forever.Heb.13:8

Jesus carried our griefs liturally means sicknesses, at calvary on the cross.Isa.53;4 Matt 8:17

Jesus passed on through His spirit power and authority over all powers of darkness that none shall harm us.Luke 10:19

Faith comes by hearing the word of God and keeping it close to our hearts and mind, guarding it close, dwelling on it, until it produces with in us a firm unshakable foundation, where our faith is secured, safe and sound.

I hope this blog affected someone, somewhere to the point that wholeness has conceived a miracle in your life. I leave you with more of Gods good news to dwell on,

Matthew 19: 2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

Mark 3: 10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.

Mark 6: 13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

Luke 4: 40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

Luke 6: 19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

Luke 9: 42 And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

Luke 14: 4 And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;

Acts 5: 16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Acts 8: 7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

Acts 14: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,

Acts 28: 8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

Acts 28: 9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

Acts 4: 22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.

Acts 10: 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Every Sickness, Every Disease pt.19

Today I want to take time and deal with the demonic forces behind many of todays and yesterdays diseases. Now hold-on before I lose some of you, being oppressed is not the same as being possessed.

To be oppressed (katadynasteuo)

1) to exercise harsh control over one, to use one's power against one

2) to oppress one

Does the disease make you feel as though you have been browbeaten, subjugated, broken, demoralized, exploited or held back from being who God wants you to be?

If you answered yes the chances are, you are being oppressed.

To be possessed (daimonizomai)

1) to be under the power of a demon.

Does the disease make you feel crazed, mad, haunted or at times out of control as though you have no control over your body, mind or actions? As in the epilectic boy that threw himself into the fire and legions.

Then the chances are you are possessed, under the control of demons.

NT belief is anyone with severe diseases and illnesses such as, blindness, deafness, paralysis, loss of speech, epilepsy, melancholy, insanity etc.whose bodies in the opinion of the Jews demons had entered and held possession of them, as to not only afflict them with ills, but also to dethrone the person and take its place themselves. Expressing the conscience and mind of the demons.

Here are scriptures supporting this theory of beliefs.

Matthew 8: 16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

Matthew 8: 33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.

Matthew 9: 32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

Matthew 12: 22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

Mark 5: 15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

Luke 8: 36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

Acts 5: 16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

There is many scriptures showing the spirits behind sickness and disease. How the demonic spirits not only oppress but possess the people.

The good news is Jesus gave us permission to use His name to call them out and He gave us authority by His spirit that they must obey.

Mark 16: 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Luke 9: 1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

Luke 10: 17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

Luke 10: 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Thank you Jesus! Start using what Jesus gave you, Tell that spirit of infirmity to loose you and get out in Jesus name. you are an heir to the kingdom of God and they must obey in Jesus name.

Every Sickness,Every Disease pt.18

Acts 5: 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

Here we see people are laying the sick in the streets. That the shadow of Peter may but reach them, and they would be healed.

The custom or superstition at that time was. the shadow of an evil man overshadowing you would bring that evilness to befall on you. Vice versa one could think goodness or the anointing could fall on you as well.

How often do we attend church, hoping for the anointing of the pastor or speaker to fall on us.

What we must see is there was no special power in Peters shadow. It was merely a "Faith point" a point where ones faith was put into action. Just as Jesus' hem was to the woman and so many others.

Matthew 14: 36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

It is the release of faith that healed the multitudes.

Someways we can release faith today is simular, going to prayer lines, asking for prayer, anointed with oil and prayer cloths.

1) Prayer lines

2) Anointing Oil

3) Prayer

James 5: 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

4) Prayer cloths

Acts 19: 12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

Remember it is God that is the miracle worker. All these things have no power in of themselves. These are a point or place where your faith is released....that you know (w/o doubt ) that if "I could but touch the hem of Jesus' garment

Every Sickness, Every Disease pt.17

Now we look at another miracle brought forth through Peter, the raising of Tabitha from the dead. I like this verse for seveeral reasons, one being she was a disciple. But there are many things to learn behind these verses.

Acts 9: 36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas:

Joppa was a seaside city, where many ships came and went. We will see the significance of this later.

Traditionally a woman names her child, giving much thought and prayer over the name. Here the name  has double mention. Tabitha-Greek and Dorcas-Hebrew both meaning a doe. hind or deer a pleasant creature.

this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

Tabitha was full of good works, showing the fruits of her faith. Not as something she felt obligated to do, but rather good works by the compassion she had and felt for others.

Titus 3: 8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

and almsdeeds which she did

Tabitha payed more than alms, she did alms-deeds. Working with her hands making wonderful garments. Caring for others less fortunate, as Jesus taught. Something we all should be doing as saints of the gospel.

Acts 9: 37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

Tabitha fell sick and died, were her friends thinking of this psalm as they called to Peter?

Psalms 41: 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

Acts 9: 38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

Here the men went to Peter asking him to come quickly, not stating their reasons. Come quick, we need you, not for a funeral, but to bring our Tabitha back.

Acts 9: 39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

Peter saw the weeping widows, the sadness they felt for the wonderful women who clothed them and had disciple them. As the showed him what she had done for them, commending Tabitha for all she did.

Acts 9: 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

Peter had them all leave the room as he himself turned away from her as he prayed. Least any doubt creep in.

Peter kneeled to pray as a servant. With the authority Jesus gave to all believers he boldly says "Arise"

Acts 9: 41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

Peter offered his hand in wecoming her back to life and as a sign of fellowship.

Acts 9: 42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

Peter tarried in Joppa for a time. Where the word of the gospel could be carried far, being Joppa was a sea-fairing city.

So we see another miracle brought forth through Peter, who first set all doubt aside and humbly as a servant knelt in prayer and gave not into vanity but kept the people eyes on the works of God

What an Awesome God we Serve

Every Sickness, Every Disease pt.16

Now lets take time to look at people that were healed by the disciples, as Jesus spirit works through them.

Acts 3: 1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

Acts 3: 2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

According to Jewish tradition an person oppressed by sickness and disease could recieve a towel or hankerchief that allowed them to beg alms. However the numbers of these was limited. So those whom  one was given retained it close. It was proof of  his right to sit at the temple gate and beg for alms.

Acts 3: 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

Acts 3: 4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on (towards) us.

Acts 3: 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

Acts 3: 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk..

All in a breif moment this man went from, Today I receive something....he was told to look towards the two men..To hey what did you call me for if you have nothing to give me.

Acts 3: 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

This man lame from birth was shocked as immediatly he felt the bones and muscles in his ankles and feet snap back into place and stregth grew in his legs.Strength to jump up and walk, something he had never done in his life.Leaving the towel behind.

Acts 3: 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

Acts 3: 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

Acts 3: 10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

The man whom they had seen at the temple gate for many years was now walking and standing before them. Praising God.

Acts 3: 11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

How quickly the people forgot that the God they serve is an awesome God. Thousands were gathered at Solomon's porch.

Acts 3: 12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

Why look to me, It wasn't I nor John that did this. It was the one you crucified, the one you kept to die over a murderer.

Acts 3: 16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our faith

Every Sickness, Every Disease pt.15

One of the most incredible days was about to happen. The Day Of Pentecost.

What this means to the Christian is second to Christs death on the cross. God whose Spirit had been safely locked up in the tabernacle for thousands of years was finally set free. He tore the veil from heaven to earth at the death of Christ, showing us His desire to dwell amongst us again.

Acts 2: 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Acts 2: 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Acts 2: 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Acts 2: 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

What an awesome site! They witnessed the Holy Spirit decending upon each of them, as fire. The Holy Spirit made a grand entrance with all the glitter and booms of a July 4th celebration. God was with us again.

What does this mean for us today? As believers and willing vessels, God can work through any of us at anytime, anywhere. Jesus' ministry never stopped at the cross, but continues through us until He returns. By His promise of the Holy Spirit...His works continue on.

Luke 24: 49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Acts 2: 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2: 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

The final structure was now in place completing the bridge from Jesus to all believers, everywhere. Jesus' ministry goes forth.
